JEE Done - What next??

April 12 - The D-day ...some happy...many sad....some worried...and some don't know what to do

One of the following might happen in many cases(remember only 6000 out of 4 lac selected)

  1. You might have over estimated your performance and get a bad rank later
  2. You might have under estimated your performance and loose interest in studies and not concentrate on other exams
  3. You might just feel relieved that so called JEE is over and enjoy the summer holidays whatever the result maybe
  4. You might be totally disappointed and planning to repeat an extra year

What is important is not to loose your focus on other exams because

  1. Getting good marks in other exams means - Proving your talent and to show everyone that JEE was not a fluke
  2. An alternative if something happens with JEE results like unable to cross subject wise cutoffs - There are so many cases where students have a score which would give a very good rank but cannot cross subject wise cutoffs
  3. Not waste an extra year when you have so many other opportunities.
  4. Most importantly it is not the end of life if you don't make through JEE - if it success you want you just need to work harder from now on

The fact of life is you don't get anything without hard work....You haven't secured a JEE rank means you will have to work harder to prove your worth in this competitive world...You have other exams....Work harder for them and you will still have a great future....

Remember "Survival of the fittest"

  1. Is it possible to preapare for AIEEE-2010 n BITSAT-2010 in just seven months. I can study 7hrs a day effectively apart from my school time of 6hrs. {I hope you wouldn't mind me posting this comment under the incorrect column..}

  2. Nope this is correct post under which you are commenting

7 months is so much time you can prepare anything

In engineering students study the whole course in one night :) so seven months is a lot of time to do 3-4 revisions :P

Anyways on a serious note - If you plan properly seven months is a good time to complete as well as revise your syllabus

I didn't studied anything in my 11th and god knows how I passed it..but now I've really become serious and want to get admission in NITs/BITS..There's gonna be a presuure of preparing for boards too..So I've decided that I'll keep 4 months for completing 11th syllabus and the remaining for completing 12th syllabus along with AIEEE. 4. @Anonymous: Ya I am 100% sure...you just need to have the determination to do it....Nope prepare a time table and follow it strictly....You are time table should be something which is possible...dont set an impossible timetable and feel bad later :)

  5. First of all i would like to thank you for your excellent work in providing excellent posts to keep us informed about BITSAT. Now, i gave IITJEE this year and it wasn't all that good and m expecting around 100. I was quite confident about AIEEE as i was scoring about 200 after attempting last year's paper. But it seems like the change in format proved to be a disaster for me as i m expecting only 183. Now i m quite serious about BITSAT as i want to put my failures behind me and stay focused. I read you 'How to Crack Chem and Mathematics'. You mentioned some topics which are quite different from normal NCERT syllabus. Could you please mention a book to which i can refer to for these topics. Also is there any special preparation needed for English and Reasoning section. M looking to score more than 350 as i m keen to take CSE.

  6. @Ashwin Sethi : A typical case...many get into Pilani CompSci inspite of screwing up JEE and AIEEE...dont worry

Try some good books like TMH/Dasgupta for Maths
    and Arrihant/HC Verma for Physics
    Arrihant / O.P.Tandon for chemistry

No separate prepartion for English and Logical reasoning...just search for MBA related papers

  7. Thanks a lot.. I have been practising DasGupta and HC Verma . But till now i have been studying only NCERT and coaching notes for chemistry. So will i get the topics such as - Lipids , Hormones , Chemicals in medicine, Other Industrial Chemicals .. and other topics which you had mentioned in the 'How to crack BITSAT Chemistry section' in Arihant or OP Tondon??? Also what is the level of BITSAT questions? Especially of maths... are they comparable to this year's AIEEE paper or tougher or easier?
    ReplyDelete
  8. @Ashwin : You should be able to study those topics from Arrihant / OP Tandon

BITSAT questions level is generally less lengthy than AIEEE but more tricky and memory based than AIEEE

BITSAT 2009 maths will surely be easy compared to AIEEE 2009 :)

  9. Thanks a lot 4 ur posts Sir.

Sir, I'm confident about each and every topic covered in NCERT books but still feel that it's too less for preparing for BITSAT esp. Maths and Physics. Sir, are questions in BITS based on complex applications or on formulae.

Sir I'm good at language and reasoning but still need your help as to wherefrom I should study English.

  10. My date for the exam is 28th May. I have heard certain rumors that the questions are tougher for those who give in the end of the month. Is that true as the questions are randomly selected from a large question bank?
    ReplyDelete
  11. @Vani : NCERT syllabus for theory...for practice go for standard books

No those are just rumors...infact many who write at the end get good scores as they have ample time for preparation

Ya questions are selected randomly from a hug database of questions...but every paper level is almost the same

    ReplyDelete
  17. @vani : The main exams will be a bit tougher....people who have found the tests in my site to be easy have scored around 330 in the final exam :)

All the best for your BITSAT

  18. Sir, Is it worth it to guess 5 to 10 questions in order to attempt the 12 extra questions? N is it true that these 12 questions are relatively easier than the rest of the paper? N is there enough time for these questions to be attempted?
    ReplyDelete
  19. @Ashwin: Post it under the current section please

Guessing is an art...if you are able to score good marks by guessing in MOCK tests you should go for guessing...Guessing is also perfected by practice :)
