hello guys after a long tiresome journey arrived in Hyd.....you can start posting your comments from now on

  1. for bits should i attempt qs whick i feel 50% confid bout.i mean if i attempt all such qs atleast afew might be correct,righht and net mark will for such qs will be positive. but i followd this in aieee,n,insted of gettin 233 if no minus,got 210

  2. @nithin : No...spend atmost one minute on every question...if you cannot solve it then skip to next question...this way you can attempt all 150 questions and still have around 40 minutes left to tackle the tough ones :)

  3. i m gettin 345 in bits.... m i assured of cs in goa????

    paper...
    initially wasnt able to solve anything due to anxiety n nervousness....
    english - few words hadnt heard of thm
    logical reasonin - easy
    chem - didnt noe a few things outright
    physics - was easy
    maths - left a few questions coz of no time (read all but felt they would be lenghty!!)overall no topic given extra preferecne... could hav got more...
    order of solvin maths(solved 10 in a lot of time) - english - physics - chem - maths(solved da rest)

  5. sir, my bits is on may 20th. i hvn't completed sum topics yet but i hv started givng mock tests and i find physics and maths to be more tough than english and chemistry.what shud i do now? shud i revise my topics or do more mock tests? i'm interested in biotechnology. can u tell sum gud colleges that offer course related to biotechnology?

  7. @shruthi : 20 hmmm....dont try new topics now...do mock tests...side by side revise the basic concepts and formulas...
    As for Biotech comment after BITSAT :)

    @Anonymous : Arrihant tests are quite easy...but 360 is a very good score....try to concentrate on your weakness you will surely succeed in BITSAT :)

    I am strongest at chem but i am getting least marks in chem.

  11. my Bitsat is on 20th what should i do i am feeling mock test as tough .. After EAMCET i only have real hope in it .Is there any hope for LUCK in BITSAT lot of my friends told that the test depends on PURE LUCK

  15. @Sandeep: Try to revise the basic formulas...being a guy from EAMCET you should rely on your speed...al the best

    @Anubhav : Mostly no...but go for duals...read the post on dual degrees

    @Anonymous : Firstly try to complete your syllabus...start taking one mock test per day 10 days before you exam....main emphasis on completing your syllabus

  17. i am getting 294 in BITSAT which probably tranlates into a mechanical at goa or a dual at pilani....also i got a rank of 4898 in VITEEE which probably translates to electronics or maybe electrical....what i want to know is is BITS goa better than VIT and the NITs at warangal an trichy...i know ppl have asked you this before and you have declined to reply but sir VIT has called me for counselling on the 5th of june and i dunno wether to accept or not....AIEEE wont be out by den....prblem with the conselling is i must pay 30000 to attend and surrender original certificates...so once i take it i must join VIT....so plz plz plz guide me and tell me whetr i should attent conselling at VIT or not....btw i am expecting <5000 in AIEEE....plz dont decline to comment i really need to know wat 2 do..verry confused

    VIT is all about money...you might not get facilities as good as VIT in BITS but a BITS degree can take you to great heights and greater opportunities...more than the degree and stuff it is the exposure you get which is more important...Engineering is not about getting a degree it is about learning how to live...Ask any bitsian he will surely have confidence to succeed whatever his academic performance may be

    I had a rank of 700 in VIT and 309 in BITS..i chose BITS and found it way better than any other private engineering colleges in India and also better than few of the IIT's

    P.S: If you choose a dual degree be prepared to study hard in the first year...else go for engineering :)

    P.P.S : I reply to all good eligible comments...i am fed up of answering silly comments..hope you understand my point

    BTW BITS gos is very good...Hyd though will take some time to develop

  20. @Anonymous : Are you mad...you can get engineering in pilani/goa/hyd...dont even think about Gitams or VIT

    You can even get CompSci in Goa campus

    Dont keep any negative thoughts about GOA...

  23. sir i m very tensed. i got 253 in bitsat. n expecting 250 in aieee. do you think can i get in bits pilani.my friends told that out of d 3 campuses only pilani is the good one. if i have to choose between any good nit and bits what should i do. sir plsssssss reply .

  24. @Pulkit : Depends on what lower degree are you talking about...if you get a dual degree and you dont want to study in your first year prefer VIT :)

    @Anonymous : IT sector always has set backs.....Dont worry..It is I who should be worrying :)

    @Anonymous : 253 tuff luck....buzz me when you get your AIEEE rank..and for the 3 campuses...Pilani is good ...doesnt mean Goa and Hyd are bad...they are new colleges but still they get the same degree the same level of faculty....infact better facilities :)

    @Anonymous 2 : Revision of syllabus...from 21 May practice one BITSAT paper per day...that should be enough to improve your speed :)

  28. thank you sir i kind of felt the same about VIT(ref:vardan's post)...i was confused if GOA is as good or not but now im confident...but sir say i get a rank of <5000 in AIEEE i should get into NIT warangal/trichy or DCE or at max punjab engineering college...should i prefer these over BITS goa?? also say i dont wanna do a dual in pilani just an engineering degree den is BITS goa still b8r dan VIT?

  30. @vardan : Again the question is which NIT and what branch...ob Goa is better than VIT

    @Pulkit : You have to fill up a preference order for admission in BITS...the notice will be up in a short time...the first iteration results will be up by 1 July....seeing the first iteration cutoffs one can easily guess the final cutoffs

    BTW there will be 5 iterations

  31. i told you most probably NIT warangal or trichy..these will offer me chemical/mechanical......plus DELHI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING and PUNJAB COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING are there which will probably offer me a good course...so are these options better than BITS goa...?? and as far as VIT is concerned im not gonna attend the counselling.....but are you sure that a score of 294 is good for goa?

  33. @vardan : A tough one to answer....

    The average placement in good NIT's for field work based disciplines like Mech and Chemical is good compared to BITS

    But if you are aiming for higher studies either an MBA /MS a BITS degree is far better than an NIT

    As for DCE or Punjab coll they are way lower than BITS Goa..DCE is loosing itz reputation year by year

    Many Go guys got into the top universities in US

    And for 294 enough for Goa ...you always have an option to go for duals...anyways according to last year cutoffs it should be enough...but the cutoffs might increase...so again a tuff question to answer

  34. I got 306 in BITSAT and I secures 2085 rank in VITEE. I am expecting 280 marks in AIEEE. VIT has called for counceiling on 03/06/2009. I am confused. I do not want to take risk and also don't want to waste money. Please advise me and also which branch can I get at all the three campuses.

  35. @Anonymous : You should good rank in AIEEE also in BITSAT you will get dual degree in Pilani and Engineering in Goa camous...why do you want to think about VIT???

    hopefully enuf for mech/civil in goa
    and maybe dual in pilani
    my question is that would the dual be a good option placement wise or would doin mba after engg in goa be better?

  37. @debjit : For an MBA it doesnt matter which engineering...so if you are going for an MBA go for eng @ goa...as for placements you will have decent placements in engineering....Dont worry

    If you are really interested in working hard then go for duals but wasting an extra year is not advisable if only you want to do an MBA

    my frnd who scored 300+ in MTG mocks scored only 235 in bitsat.Can u tell me any other mocks which replicate bitsat level of difficulty??

    i'm getting 286 in aieee and 330 in bits and 200 in iit.i'm sure that i won't get a good course in iit.
    so is it advisable to forget about iit and opt for joining bits or nit-trichy?
    and which is better nit-trichy or bits-pilani ?
    i am intersted in mechanical engineering.!!

  42. @Anonymous : MTG tests are good....your friend might not have practised properly or his was unlucky to get tough paper

    @Debjit : Hmm Goa is surely better than new IIT's though IIT tag might help...anyways I will never advice anyone to join a college which doesnt have good infrastructure of it's own...hyd campus same as new IIT's and it has better facilities :)

    @vardan : Ya you can...but it is tough..around 10 out of 800 get a transfer to Engineering degree...


    @Ahamed : BITS Pilani is way ahead of any NIT...
