AIEEE 2010 application form last date 31 Dec

he deadline for the AIEEE 2010 application form is 31 Decemeber, 2009 5 p.m. Please see to it that you complete the filling up of the AIEEE application forms before 31 and dont wait for the last day.If you have any doubts regarding the application procedure please post it in the form of comments.

The last date of receipt of completed application form by post along with DD to the AIEEE unit is 5 Jan. You must mail the complete application forms to the following address.

Download NCERT text books for free

As I have always insisted you must prepare the theory part from NCERT textbooks.NCERT text books are the basis for every competitive engineering entrance examination. Even IIT JEE syllabus is completely based on the NCERT text books.

But many of you have complained that you are not from CBSE but from the state board and are not in touch with the NCERT books.Also some of them have complained that they cannot afford to buy NCERT text books.So here is some good news for you guys( This might be very old news for many).

The CBSE board has decided to provide the NCERT text books for free in the form of e-books(electronic books). What you need is a good internet speed for dowloading them and a PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat Reader.

ISAT 2010 online Application Forms - Starts Dec 21

The admission test for The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Trivandrum i.e. ISAT 2010  is out and the online booking starts from Dec 21, 2009. There is only online booking for ISAT 2010 and you need to have an email id to fill up the form online. Please remember that without a proper email id you cannot submit this form and please see to it that you do not lose the login username and password of your email id as all communication takes place with your email id.

Also note that ISAT 2010 is on April 16 while VITEEE 2010 is on April 17 so choose wisely before applying for both as sometimes you might not get same centre for the examination. This might not be a problem for people in the main cities but will be a problem for those coming from far off villages.

ISAT-2010 is planned to be conducted in about thirty major cities of India. The list is given below:

The application forms for Vellore Instiute of Technology 2010 are out. VIT is developing into one of the better institutes for engineering and is steadily gaining compared to many other colleges.

The cost of VITEEE application form is 750 and one of the following methods can be used to obtain the application form

2. By sending a Demand Draft for Rs.750/- drawn in favour of “VIT University”, payable at Vellore, to the Admissions Officer with a request letter containing the full address of the applicant
3. By handing over a DD for Rs.750/- in person at VIT University, Vellore (or) at Chennai Administrative Office.

The application forms for entrance into the Birla Institute of Technology and Sciene, Pilani(BITS Pilani) for the year 2010 are out. You can get the BITSAT 2010 application form by filling up the form online or by sending a post to BITS Pilani. The notification will be released today (i.e. 18, December) after 10 a.m.

There are no changes expected to take place for BITSAT 2010 admission criteria or the examination pattern of BITSAT. When it was introduced in 2005( I am from the first lucky batch to write BITSAT) many have had negative apprehensions about an online examination as an engineering entrance. But BITS and BITSAT have proven all critics wrong. Where CAT failed terribly due to technical glitches all along, BITSAT has never had any major incidents with the total expected number to take the exam close to 1.5 lac students.And with less than 2000 seats it surely is one of the toughest exams to crack.

In short - BITSAT 2010 is not going to be tough but it will not be that easy into to get into BITS Pilani.

ISAT 2010 - IIST Admission Test - New Engineering Entrance Examination

The Indian Institution of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram is going to conduct it's own entrance examination for admission into the academic year 2010-11 called as ISAT - IIST Admission Test. Till last year (i.e. 2009) they had admission based on the IIT JEE rank followed by a personal counseling.

If your dream is aerospace or any related field then IIST is the answer. It gives scholarship covering all the expenses provided he/she performs well during the academic tenure.You will ultimately end up working with the best minds in the field of aerospace,avionics,astronomy etc.Currently it is a part of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre campus in Thiruvananthapuram with a new campus coming up. But there is one downside. You need to write a bond to serve ISRO ( Indian Space Research Organization) for 5 years.This shouldn't make you disappointed - because if your aim is to get into the best research organization's like NASA then your normal engineering degree might not help but an IIST degree will surely do.And at the end giving it back to your country is the highest honour and the greatest satisfaction one could ever have.

Tips to Crack engineering entrance examinations

We have around 5 months left for BITSAT 2010 and around 4 months for other competitive examinations like IIT JEE and AIEEE. So here are the important things to do in this 4-5 months.

• Complete your syllabus - Attempting the easier questions from the nook and corner of your text book is less time consuming than the toughest problem in mechanics.There are many topics which are not covered by students for their preparation and when a question pops from that topic you just complain that the paper is tough instead of realizing how easy that question actually was.
  

• Have a plan - Revise all the topics from 11 class from now on - Spend atleast an hour everyday revising the 11 class topics.
  

• NCERT is your bible - Prepare as much as theory as possible only from the NCERT books. You can practice the problems from other competitive examinations book like Arriant, TMH etc.This is especially important for Chemistry
  

• Time is Money - Most of you guys would be writing practice tests on Saturdays or Sundays. The most important thing these practice tests teach you is how to manage the time.

• By heart - You need to by heart the basic formulas as well as basic problems. Many people just leave it at the formulas and try to derive basic problem in the exams - this will waste a lot of time. Ex: Neve try to derive the Moment of Inertia of any object in the exam hall for the basic structures - just By heart
