The Logic behind BITSAT PracticeTests



Lately I have seen many of the students asking some totally stupid questions about our proposed new venture to provide Paid BITSAT online tests.One must try to understand the rationale behind any practice tests before you post silly questions.

  • Practice tests are to test how good you are with theory part and how good you are with the basics.



  • You should not try to deduce the theory part from a sample problem :) it should be the other way i.e. apply the theory to the problem


  • Practice tests help to improve your timing. So be very cautious and try to complete the exam within the stipulated time and never fool around with a single tough problem. There are many easy ones waiting for you.As for BITSAT it is 150 questions in 180 minutes - so the logic would be to spend maximum of 1 minute on every question and have atleast the last half hour to solve the tougher ones.


  • Practice tests should stimulate your thought process - so if there are any tricky problems and if you do commit a mistake - never repeat it(Like this one - "Find the periodicity of f(x)=Sinx +x-[x] ".

  • Expect to commit silly mistakes in a practice test but try not to repeat them like taking radius for a diameter and diameter for radius in a problem.


  • Every memory based question in a practice test is a reminder to you to revise the topics you have forgot.If you haven't started these topics atleast start reading them from now on. 


  • Memory based questions take lesser time and hence give you more time  to solve other lengthy problems.It is either do or die with a memory based question - either you remember it or you don't and that could be the difference between you and the next 1000 aspirants.


  • Until and unless you complete your syllabus you cannot be confident of getting a good rank in any competitive examinations. Being good in Surface Tension is as important as being Mechanics.I am not discouraging people but just trying to reiterate my statement - Complete your syllabus.

  1. heard that the state toppers get direct admission to the bits???..but in the state of arunachal pradesh there is no stateboard?cbse is followed?.so the cbse state topper of arunachal pradesh state can get intot the bits??2 years back the arunachal cbse state topper got into bits mesra???but i dnt know about last year???.any chances this year?
