BITSAT 2010 TOUGHNESS - Feedback from People who have given BITSAT 2010

As promised we are here with the feedback of few of the guys who have written BITSAT 2010.But before that I need to talk something regarding BITSexam
Firstly I am very busy nowadays and I am unable to answer your BITSAT related doubts. Please remember that I am a student like you ( though I am doing an internship in a company) and BITSexam is just one of our passions which we(both me and Santosh) pursue during our free time.

Secondly I read every comment you guys post, but the problem is that most of them do not search for articles covering such doubts. Please do a search before posting any doubt( you can find he search box at the top of the right bar) .Also post your doubts in the form of points. It will be very easy to reply and adding some more details about yourself like your past performance, if you are repeating or not will surely help.

Ok back to the topic. We have asked students to rate BITSAT 2010 on the basis of the following points. And If you have given your BITSAT please mail me these details point wise or post them as comments. I will add the better ones here to this post.

1) Difficulty - Subject Wise
2) Areas in which you got the questions from Each Subject
3) Topics with the highest question
4) Time taken for completing the 150 questions
5) Did you attempt the Bonus questions? If so how many bonus questions did you attempt
6) Total Time taken including Bonus
7) What was the level of the bonus question
8) Did BITSexam tips help you?
9) Have you taken BITSexam sample tests? If so can you compare the level of these tests with the main BITSAT exam



This was the reply from Rohit Jain who scored 294 in BITSAT

1) Maths was really easy...physics was average while chemistry was a bit tough.
2, 3) In Maths there were five questions from differential equations...n calculus had a lot of weightage..in physics.almost every topic had equal weightage...
in chem...there a lot of questions from physical chem..
4) I was able to do the questions in abt 2 hrs 38 min...
5) I didn't take the bonus questions..
9) I didn't take the bits exam sample test ...so i cant compare the level.

Kriti was one of the active participant of BITSexam community and she had scored 313 in here BITSAT. I am very grateful to her for here very descriptive reply.

1,2, 3) English was very easy. I left one question . Passage based questions, pattern identification, paper folding questions etc. were asked. I had practiced all these kinds of questions so there was nothing unexpected in the paper.

Chemistry was average. Not too much of organic and inorganic. Mostly physical. I also got one question from amino acids and isotherms each. Questions from ionic equilibrium, solutions, mole concept were asked. Mechanism and named reactions were not asked.

Physics was relatively easy keeping in mind that it is my weak point. Simple mechanics questions and no rotation. Few questions from thermodynamics were also asked. I don't remember any fluid mechanics questions being asked. I did get a long question from magnetism that required integration. Electrostatics was basic.
Maths was a bit on the tougher side. Got a question from linear programming also. Integration was very easy( 2-3 questions were asked). Got only one question on probability and none from PnC as far as I remember.

4) I attempted around 100 questions in one go with 45 mins to spare. Then I went back to the unanswered questions. I attempted 123 questions.

5,6,7) Did not attempt bonus questions

8) BITSexam tips helped me a lot because I has kept in mind a minimum of 120 questions for a score of over 300(as mentioned in your blog ). I had read all the tips before I took the exam.

Paper was very easy though there were few good level questions .But still apart from physics paper was easy .physics was tricky and had many aieee level lengthy questions .one needed very good practise at physics,otherwise maths and chemistry was very very easy .i just couldn't keep the speed when i started physics,it took toll on my concentration.frustrated at physics, English and logical part was easiest .I knew all 25 questions.

Didn't get any questions related to above physics topics except 1 question of EMI INDUCTION that 2 basic concept.Organic questions did came in plenty especially GOC. distereomers related questions (2 nos) also came in paper.questions with 2-3 steps reactions in organic also came ,though it was easy basic concept.

Paper's difficulty level was medium but it was lengthy. i Have got 256.

Aieee was actually really much tougher than BITS .Since bits is all bout moving constantly from one question to the next . And the questions were relatively easy actually ..English was easy except for a couple of quesions in which i had NO CLUE It is definitely a mix of both theory and rough work ...
well my test ..Physics was kind of tougher than I expected .. Maths was easier .. Chemistry was the same ..thing about chemistry was that it had several questions which are totally theory based..so its possible to complete REALLY quickly ..
And I attempted the last 12 which helped
